Good Afternoon, Parents, Guardians, and Students from West Las Vegas High School and Family Partnership. Our school is proud to communicate that we receive funding that allows us to provide free breakfast, lunch, and afterschool snacks for students attending afterschool sessions. However, we must follow state and federal regulations under the USDA, NM Grown, and FFVP programs to receive these wonderful benefits for our students. We are not allowed to have outside vendors or food delivery services such as Grubhub, Doordash, and private vendors during regular school hours. If you are a parent/guardian wishing to bring in a meal to your child, the food item must be dropped off at the front office and not delivered or passed through the fence. We want to ensure your child is safe at school. It is difficult for us to monitor what is being passed through a fence and we want to ensure your child is safe. Also, remember, as we discussed before, only juniors and seniors in good standing (no unexcused absences and no Fs) will be given a lunch pass to exit campus. Please let the front office know if you choose not to give your junior or senior this privilege. Freshmen and Sophomores must stay on campus. Thank you for your continued support.

January 15, 2025 Dear WLVS Family, We are writing to inform you of a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, a software vendor that provides our Student Information System (SIS). On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, PowerSchool informed our leadership team that they experienced a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain PowerSchool SIS customer data. Unfortunately, they have confirmed that the information belongs to some WLVS families and educators. PowerSchool informed us that the data taken primarily includes parent and student contact information and data elements such as name and address information. Across their customer base, they have determined that some personally identifiable information (PII), such as social security numbers (SSN) and medical information, was impacted for a portion of individuals. They are urgently working to complete their investigation and determine whether PII belonging to our students was included. Protecting our students is something we take seriously. With PowerSchool’s help, more information and resources (including credit monitoring or identity protection services, if applicable) will be provided to you as they become available. Thank you for your patience and understanding. PowerSchool updates and frequently asked questions are available at https://www.powerschool.com/security/sis-incident/. Sincerely, Mr. Christopher Gutierrez, Superintendent
